Ancient Lineage

In this course, I outline the very basic training I received from masters of an ancient lineage,  when I started early in life. Tools, techniques and teachings that have been passed down through a living lineage for over two thousand years in India and Tibet to help a person discover purpose and live a joyous life. The masters knew that in order to live a life of freedom and fulfillment, one has to first begin by understanding the mind, its nature and tendencies.  Then develop the skills to collect, contain and focus its energy to manifest your full intention. This can be achieved by training the body, breath and mind using a systematic and precise sequence.  This practice gives you the tools, techniques and teachings to work with the energy of the mind.   Turning inward with the practice of Focused Awareness you begin to access and unlock your greatest potential.

Susan Taylor was fortunate early on in life to have been trained in a tradition rooted in self-knowledge and self-discovery.  After decades of western study, including the rigorous discipline to earn a masters and PhD in science she decided to continue with her early studies and traveled throughout India and Tibet while continuing to write and teach over the next three decades.  As a trained scientist and meditation practitioner, her focus continues to be on the vital connection between mind, medicine and healing – bridging the gap between evidence-based science and the healing practices of the Himalayan masters.   This healing methodology defines her  personal journey, “Where Science Meets Practice” and serves as the foundation for Focused Awareness Meditation. How is the program organized?

This comprehensive program consists of 4 sessions with over 3 hours of content designed to be self-paced.  

Each session prepares you for systematically incorporating the 5 step sequence into a full meditation practice.

Session 1- Foundation Tools offers an overview of the science and practice of meditation.

Session 2- Build Your Practice provides the 3 core skills to build a solid and sustainable practice in meditation.

Session 3- Focus Your Practice provides 2 techniques to train the energy of the mind to stay focused and contained preventing distraction and disturbance.

Session 4- Refine Your Practice focuses on lifestyle habits that will support a highly effective meditation practice.
