Integrative Medicine Chat

We just concluded our online chat with nursing spectrum on integrative health care. The group was enthusiastic about the possibilities of incorporating holistic practices into health care. I introduced the meditation specialist certification which created some interest. The two hours went by very fast and we look forward to future chats.

Focused Awareness

Where is your mind centered right at this moment? Are you thinking about yesterday, a few moments ago, or something that happened years ago? Maybe a distant memory? A conversation with friends? Some line from a movie you saw? Or, are you focused on the future? Worrying or wondering how something will turn out based on some expectation, projection, or calculation?

Someone asks you what you are doing, and you really don't know. You are doing so many things that you can't seem to stay focused and move through them.

Yet, we move through life very quickly, often having little attention for the current moment -- the moment that is inside us this very second. Utilizing tools like breath awareness, meditation, yoga, and the intention to be present in each moment, you can further explore the possibilities: What would it feel like to be completely connected to spirit in each moment? Not reliving the past or planning for the future-simply allowing yourself to be: breath by breath. You will find by learing to be focused yet aware of your environment will save time and energy. You will actually feel time slowing down. Our meditation programs teach the fundamental principles of learning to be focused and aware at the same time. Visit our store at www.DrSusanTaylor.com

Healing Power of Meditation CD Series

Meditation has existed as long as humans have walked the earth. As the first person stood in silence looking into the night sky she was pondering her relationship to the universe, as she sought to find her pure self. The pure self is the center axis where you have access to your enlightened, whole being that exists beneath the layers of life experience, thoughts, sensations, and sounds.

Many have passed through the Center for Meditation Science on their way to find their center axis as they learn that the stillness and silence is their true nature. Meditation is the cornerstone of all the principles and practices we teach, because in that space between one’s thoughts rests the pure potentiality and infinite possibilities that align us with universal consciousness. Each day students learn Center Axis® meditation as a way to tap into this divine energy source. Each week our students who are taking the meditation programs learn the healing power of meditation as they calm anxieties, release stress, practice body-centered restful awareness through yoga, and experience the detoxifying and therapeutic impact of relaxation and meditation. Many of those who attend have struggled with meditation for years or feel the need to refresh their practice, but within a few days they connect with their practice – a practice that nurtures, heals, and transcends - and one that will last a lifetime. Center Axis

As many of you know, I have been teaching Center Axis® meditation for the purpose of empowering participants to build inner strength and focus for a balanced life. I have clinically standardized the format so that it will be easy to learn without having any additional training. For those that have been meditating for a while and don't seem to feel that they are getting results, the five-step program will give you what you have been looking for, namely, consistency and progress. You can purchase this program on CD at our online store. Visit, www.DrSusanTaylor.com

The most important aspect in developing your meditation practice is to be consitent, not only with time, but with format. The key features are to keep your head, neck and spine aligned naturally. Establish diaphragmatic breathing to balance the nervous system. Experience relaxation. And finally continue refining your breathing to the point of focused awareness.
