Taking the Meditation Certification has helped me to create space for healing and nurturing in my day to day living. This has allowed my to take care of myself first, so I can do my work to help others. As you can see by the picture we had alot of happy times being in the moment. Happy Holidays to all.

Happy New Year everyone.

I want to encourage any of you who are undecided about attending the Meditation Specialist Seminars to take time to consider the enormous benefits systematic meditation practice will have for you, your family, and your patients. Dr. Taylor is an inspired meditation teacher, as well as an expert in health promotion. It is rare to find an experienced meditation teacher with credentials and knowledge such as Dr. Taylor's.

The decision to attend the seminars was difficult for me due to time and financial considerations. I finally committed to attending the seminars in Honesdale, PA and am so gratified that I did. From the very first moments at the Himalayan Institute in the Poconos, I knew that I was on the right track.

Initially, I had misgivings about attending the seminars due to my limited experience with yoga and my intermittant attempts to develop a serious meditation practice. Although I knew that guided relaxation, systematic meditation, and proper breathing techniques would positively affect my own health as well as my patients, I was very nervous when I arrived at the Himalayan Institute. All my fears were unfounded. The program was so carefully tailored to every level of ability that I immediately felt comfortable. The classes and practicums quickly improved my skills and knowledge. By the second seminar, after diligent use of the skills and information Dr. Taylor taught, I felt as though I was well on my way to learning meditation and developing the depth of practice I would need to teach meditation and relaxation.

Each and every one of the four seminars with Dr. Taylor was amazing. As I look back over the past year, I realize that I now understand what meditation really is and the importance of meditation, breath work, and systematic relaxation in creating health and vitality. I have a firm grasp on the many ways that systematic meditation, relaxation, and breath can permanently and positively impact my health, as well as the health of my patients and family.

I gained not only confidence, knowledge, greater personal health and vitality, but also some wonderful friends. From the first practicum on, Dr. Taylor taught and demonstrated the path to a systematic meditation practice. With the help of Dr. Taylor, I soon understood the reasons for my difficulty with the development of a regular meditation practice and was able to create a steady, regular practice of systematic meditation. She also taught methods to modify relaxation, breath, and meditation techniques for those with differnt types of disabilities.

My meditation practice has begun to mature and grow, as has my sense of wellness. Currently, I teach clinical nursing at a local university. All of my junior level students have now had experience with guided relaxation, proper breathing, and systematic meditation. Before each clinical day, we practiced breath, guided relaxation, and meditation. By the end of the semester, they were hooked. Each of them had the opportunity to practice meditation and relaxation skills with at least one patient. All had very positive experiences. Many of them told me they felt empowered to help their patients get through difficult times, without simply handing them a medication, or a half-hearted promise that they would feel better. The students left their patient rooms knowing that their patient felt better. Many of them have written me and told me it also helped them with test anxiety and daily stress.

Also, I am in the process of developing a private practice teaching meditation to clients with hypertension, obesity, multiple sclerosis, and chronic pain and illness. In the coming year, I plan to begin teaching meditation at a local YWCA, women's groups, and in physicians offices.

I feel better than I ever have in my entire 53 years and it shows. I am finally doing something I love with all my heart and it shows. Thank you Dr. Taylor and thanks to all the very wonderful new friends I discovered during the seminars.

****Also, the Himalayan Instutite has some quite wonderful experiences. Breath taking hiking trails, a hidden waterfall, a joyful atmosphere, and wonderful food are among the benefits of attending the seminars at the Institute. You can schedule a massage at the health center there, a health consultation, and/or schedule an appointment with the phenomenal homeopathic pharmacist. So in addition to learning meditation from a true meditation instructor, you are able to tailor your free time to your own needs.
